Food and Supplies for the Bahamas

Space Coast Sled Hockey players with donations the team collected for the Bahamas

Space Coast Sled Hockey players brought food and supplies to their first practice to support the Bahamas and their recovery from Hurricane Dorian. These supplies were given to former teammate Gaby and his organization the Bearded Villains of Orlando in support of their donation drive.

5th Annual 3v3 Cross-Ice Tournament and Raffle

On June 23-24, Space Coast Sled Hockey hosted our 5th annual 3v3 cross-ice sled hockey tournament and raffle. 28 teams, 112 players, and 50 games, in two days and total of 8 hours of hockey! We also had over 40 raffle prizes and baskets.

This year there were 8 teams in the very competitive police and firefighter division, with the Corbett’s of the Orlando Fire Department defeating the defending champs the Ice holes of Melbourne Fire Department. MFD, OFD, Brevard County Enforcers, BCSO and Melbourne PD all competed for the cup.

In the friends and family divisions, Team Security made up of Space Coast Sled Hockey players’ dads and the Mother Puckers made up of Space Coast Sled players’ moms realized how much harder the sport is than it looks from the stands. Their games were fun to watch especially when they played against their kids.

The fundraiser was a huge success, raising over $6,000 and wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our many sponsors and volunteers. Coach Brad Cervi did an amazing job organizing, promoting and running the event, and recruiting teams.
