Space Coast Sled Hockey, a 501c(3) nonprofit organization, is a competitive sled hockey team located in Brevard County, Florida. Sled Hockey is an adaptive sport for anyone not able to play stand up hockey. These include single and double amputees, paraplegics, disabled veterans, adults who’ve suffered car and motorcycle accidents, and those with birth defects like spina bifida, autism and MS. Our players come primarily from Brevard County, with some coming from Orange, Seminole, and Indian River Counties.
We have also raised and developed seven Team USA sled hockey players: 2026 Paralympic gold medalist Brett Bolton, former USA Team member and World Champion Chris Douglas, former Team USA and 2-time Paralympic Gold Medalist Greg Shaw, and former USA Women’s Development Team Karina Villegas. Space Coast Blast is also home to men’s development team player Sean Gallagher, and a current women’s national team member Madeleine Gallagher who won gold in three women’s world championships.
